Title: How To Hear Your Angels Author: Doreen Virtue Ph.D Publisher: Hay House/Raincoast Books Year Released: 2007 # Of Pages: 174 ISBN: 978-1-4019-1705-0 $ 12.95 US/$14.95 CDN 5 Stars Reviewed By: Clairvoyant Medium Beverley Ann I wish I had such a useful resource when I was first developing as a Medium like the one Doreen Virtue ‘The Angel Lady’ has recently had published by Hay House - How To Hear Your Angels. Virtue is known for her other angel paraphernalia, such as angel cards and a huge list of books about well-being and spiritualism. She is a practical and non-evasive author on the realm of spiritual connection and in this particular book she seems to have outdone herself. How To Hear Your Angels is a fabulous book for any person developing no matter what level they are on in the process of their spiritual journey. Many of the experiences or situations Virtue speaks of are ones I’ve also discovered; she seems to clearly outline those experiences that connect us with the spiritual realm. Virtue acknowledges that everyone has the capability to connect with the Divine ‘I’ve found that everyone has the ability to hear angels if they’ll just trust and let go of doubts.’ Virtue also explores the reasons why we should connect to the spiritual world ‘Angels bring messages from the Divine Mind of our Creator….sent to help us remember our Divine nature, to be loving and kind, to discover and polish our talents for the betterment of the world, and to keep us out of harm’s way before our time. They also guide us in the areas of relationships, health, career, and even finances.’ How To Hear Your Angels explains what our Angels are there for ‘The angels don’t judge your beliefs. Rather, they work within your present thoughts as a way to reach us.’ Often I am explaining in my own readings much of what Virtue speaks about in How To Hear Your Angels such as that ‘You can communicate with your deceased loved ones anytime and anywhere. Their souls aren’t located at the cemetery; they’re free to travel throughout the universe. And don’t worry that you are disturbing their peace. Everyone wants to heal unfinished business in relationships, whether they are living or not.’ Recommending this book after a reading would be easy for me to do often as it explains the process of readings, the process of developing, and of how people who have passed away communicate with a medium. In fact, this would be an excellent book to recommend before someone wants to be read for the first time! Virtue speaks about how the guidance being sent by Angels and those who have passed away is simply that ‘We have free will, so we can ignore the guidance anytime we choose. However most people find that if they don’t complete one of the Divinely guided steps, they feel stuck….I always ask people who tell me that they feel blocked, “What piece of Divine guidance have you been repetitively receiving but are ignoring?” Always, I find that this insight (which they’re avoiding because of some fear of making a life change) is the key ingredient they’ve been searching for.’ She also speaks about following your own intuition ‘You may tend to discount your intuition and not trust yourself. How many times have you had a gut feeling to not get involved in a certain relationship, take a job, buy something, or drive a particular route? How often did you then override your feelings, do it anyway, and later regret it?’ And goes into further discussion about how listening to your intuition is both achieved and how it can shape and positively affect your future. Among much valuable advice Virtue gives a plentitude of clearly descriptive lists; such as knowing when you are receiving messages as thoughts as opposed to manifesting a response that comes from your imagination. She also describes what the feelings are associated with a heavenly message when you do genuinely receive one. Virtue includes a list of what might occur when you are imagining such experiences or receiving false guidance from the ego (Virtue also explains the difference between the ego speaking and actual spiritual guidance). So when you ask yourself ‘Did I just experience a spiritual message?’ you now have a great checklist to figure out whether you did, or you just thought you did. Those searching to develop themselves further spiritually can read up on how to increase your clairsentience and some very helpful tips on how to protect yourself as a clairsentience. She does make a couple of off the wall comments about experiences that I haven’t come across as a medium, but most of the book is an accurate description and functional explanation of the realm of spiritualism. How To Hear Your Angels is an insightful book filled with positive information. This is an excellent book to explain procedures for positive living and it is a practical guide to listening to yourself, and the spiritual world as well. A must have for all who want to improve life and spiritual awareness, who want to make changes for positive living, and who want to connect with loved ones who have passed over.
