Title: My Guardian Angel Author: Amy Oscar & Doreen Virtue Publisher: Hay House Books/Raincoast Books Released: December 10th 2007 Pages: 165 ISBN: 978-1-4019-1753-1 $10.95 US/$11.95 CDN 4 Stars Reviewed By: Clairvoyant Medium Beverley Ann A collection of concise, but inspiring stories that made their way from Woman's World magazine, by the readers, into one compilation known as My Guardian Angel. Co-author Amy Oscar tells how she had compiled the ‘My Guardian Angel' column for Woman's World and a test audience proved the column would not go over well. The first ‘My Guardian Angel' segment appeared to be the last one, until Oscar started to receive bushels of letters on the same subject, of people interacting with angels, in their everyday life. The column was reinstated and is one of the most ‘beloved' columns to date says Oscar. Doreen Virtue, author and known as ‘the angel lady,' seems to have a clear understanding of how angels communicate with us and what we can do to understand and identify their presence in our lives. It appears from all these beautifully told anecdotes, from people all over North America, that the presence of angels are seen and heard often. Throughout the book of stories, similar to the Chicken Soup For The Soul series, Virtue adds in tidbits of information about angels and your interactions with them. Virtue lets the reader know people can call upon their angels when they feel afraid or alone, or affirms that ‘if you think you've met an angel, then you probably have.' If you enjoyed the articles in Woman's World, you will be excited to find the stories all in one spot. If you never read the column, you will enjoy discovering the stories and anecdotes as well. My Guardian Angel is a great book to have on your bedside table, to read an excerpt from just before you go to bed, or just before you start each day as a way to remind us that, as the Alabama song goes ‘I believe there are angels among us.' |
