Canada has a wonderful program for its inspired writer's with many opportunities to write with both financial stability and room to be creative. 2007 was a good year for poetry and here is a solid representation of what Canadian poetry had to offer.
Written By: Kindah Mardam Bey Canada has a wonderful program for its inspired writer's with many opportunities to write with both financial stability and room to be creative. Canada enjoys supporting its artists and sees the value in doing so. 2007 was a good year for poetry and here is a solid representation of what Canadian poetry had to offer. A clear favourite of mine was 'She Dreams In Red' by Alexis Kienlan. This book of poetry comes from Frontenac House, a Western Canadian (Calgary, AB) publishing company that showcases talent from the Province of Alberta. Where as Mercury Press has an ideal idea by compiling works by various authors into an anthology. This is the best way to get interested in poetry, as anthologies allows you to discover what author you might like to read more works of in the future. TalonBooks are publishers that work hard to bring Canadian works, and historical Canadian authors to the foreground. McLelland & Stewart, a subsidiary of Random House in Canada, had an exciting fall publishing of poetics, including a book of poems by Margaret Atwood. Check back to see more McLelland & Stewart, and some Doubleday poetry books as well, get added to this collection as the reviews go up on AnEVibe. Click on the book to read the AnEVibe review. The Chronicles Of Narnia: Prince Caspian 1951-2008
I can only think of one person when I think of this epic series that ignited my imagination as a child, that I saw versions of in theatre productions, that I saw on the BBC, and now on the big screen - My Auntie. It was her own love of the story that she passed onto me; perhaps just the way C.S. Lewis intended his story of Narnia to be shared...like a legend passed down to each generation. |
