Motley Crue is on a mission to blow out eardrums all over the continent, and they brought their buddies along for the ride.  Cruefest is a great display of some hard-rocking bands who clearly just want to have a good time.  Trapt, Six..AM, Papa Roach, Buckcherry, and Motley Crue all in one night won't just blow your eardrums, it will blow your mind!

cruefest_2008.jpgOpening act Trapt had chemistry as the members have been playing together since high school.  Previously touring with acts like Nickelback and Three Days Grace, they were unfazed by the large crowd and played a great set, with the right energy to kick off the evening.  Papa Roach was next and impressed the crowd with his intense vocals, screaming into the mike until sweat dripped down his face.  He played all the hits, including "Last Resort" which was his claim to fame.

cruefest_2008_tommy_lee.jpgFollowing was Six..AM who proved they had every right and talent to share the stage with Motley Crue (and literally as Crue bassist Nikki Sixx is a part of this group as well).  With commanding lead vocals and an inexplicably talented guitarist, all eyes were not on Nikki Sixx, but the other band members as they rocked with the passion of a new band tasting their first success.

Buckcherry has seen a rise to stardom with their hit "Crazy Bitch" and have been on the up since then.  This show was a great chance for them to gain a bigger fanbase for their upcoming album "Black Butterfly" being released in September 2008.  Always a great show, they did not disappoint, other than the fact that their set was too short (about 8 songs long).

cruefest_2008_nikki_sixx.jpgMotley Crue is glam metal at it's best.  Being in the industry for over 25 years this band knows how to put on a show.  Their stage was set up with funky letters spelling Los Angeles in tribute to their new single and album "Saints of Los Angeles".  And of course, pyrotechnics are to be expected.  Vince Neil took control of the stage and belted out all the classics. Tommy Lee was fantastic on his drums and, at one point, on the grand piano.  Having already played a show three acts before, Nikki Sixx didn't display any sign of fatigue.  All in all, loyal fans are given exactly what they desire.

If an evening of intense metal music is what you're looking for, this circus is the place to be.  With 6 straight hours of rock and roll lets hope your ears and your mind are still intact.
