Blue Dreams Downtown – PG. Mature Theme Blue Dreams Downtown is an interesting idea, and although it’s only three minutes long, I found it to be strangely romantic and touching. The film begins with a man living in Coney Island staring at a photograph. When it shows the photograph, there’s a lady in it, moving. She appears to be reaching for him, and he appears to be reaching for her. He spends all of his time gazing into this portrait, falling asleep next to it, and waking up next to it. I thought this was a beautiful story. Two people in love not being able to reach each other. The music was enormously moving, and really set the mood. Despite the length of this film, I found it to be very effective. |
