Title: Cofffeee Director: Nolan
Date saw the show: August 15 2007 Animated Short 2 ˝ stars Reviewed By: Emily Axelson Cofffeee- PG (Canada-4:20 Animation, Nolan – Director S) A Day in the life of a coffee fanatic who can't quite function normally without a few pots. In this classically animated short, things go from bad to worse as something as simple as getting a cup of coffee unexpectedly becomes a test of self control. A coffee addict is on his way to work, after having his daily cup of coffee. When he arrives at work to see that the coffee machine is out of order, he goes ballistic and runs home in a panic. He arrives home for some more coffee only to realize that his cat has ate all the coffee grinds. The only thing containing any caffeine are coffee beans, so he goes to drastic measures and snorts them. An animated short on the addiction of coffee, it has some funny moments; not many and they’re not laugh-out-loud funny. The animation is impressive, but it was not humorous enough to be an impressive film. It’s a funny idea, and it SHOULD have been funny, but with an idea like that, people expect it to be hilarious, and it just didn’t measure up. |
