Doomed – 14A
Everything is normal on this particular summer day; there is a couple trying to save their relationship, which is slowly falling apart, lovers walking on a beach, children sitting outside the liquor store trying to get adults to buy them beer, and children playing soccer. Everything is normal other than the fact there are zombies everywhere. The zombie problem is spreading quickly, and as soon as you’re bitten, within minutes, you begin to crave human flesh. Doomed was too gory for my taste. I was aware that it was about zombies, but I didn’t expect it to all out show the zombies eating live humans. Out of the fifteen minutes, I remember laughing three times. There was the occasional funny moment, not enough though. The acting was good enough, but I wasn’t wowed. In my opinion, the funniest and best actors were the children waiting to get beer, and that boy’s father. All the laughs came from them. If you don’t mind gore, I’m sure that you’d enjoy this film FAR more than I did. Other than the gore, it was an average film. A little more of the comdey side and less of the horror would have made Doomed more enjoyable. |
