My Last Confession is an extremely entertaining comedy set in the 1960s, about a young boy named Danny who is dreading going to confession based on embarrassment of confessing his impure thoughts and impure deeds. Danny’s stalling methods to avoid reaching the confession booth are incredibly witty, and when this film has its moments, they are laugh-out-loud hilarious moments.

I thought the direction was impressive considering the whole thing takes place in a church. The ability to do that without boring the audience is tremendously admirable. I thought this film was the perfect length as well. If it were any longer, it could have gotten repetitive, but if it were any shorter, we would have missed some of those delightful moments. mylastconfession1.jpg

Graham Kartna, portraying the role of Danny, is wonderful; I loved how he spoke directly to the camera; he did a fantastic job. An impressive supporting cast with the likes of Maria Del Mar (24, Jag) and David Ferry, who has a huge career in television (even being in the Canadian staple Road To Avonlea!) were nice to see gracing the shots of this short film. I thought this was a very enjoyable way to spend twenty one minutes; and I recommend this film very strongly to anyone in need of some laughs.

FALL RUNWAY TRENDS 2008
Jenny Sung (Toronto Correspondent - Canada)

Now that the summer is coming to an end (I say this as I choke back tears), it's time for a wardrobe haul!  The fall season may be all too short in our wonderful home and native land, but I think it's long enough to at least go out and invest in a pair of leggings or two.

Speaking of leggings...that is one trend that hasn't seemed to fade so quickly, as it made a repeat appearance on the runways this year.  Of course, since they are for fall/winter, ditch the sheers and go for the heavier, more opaque stockings in any variety of colours and textures (but stick to grays, navys, purples, and blacks - this season's palette).  Paired with an ankle boot, your look is halfway complete...read more
