The Care PackagePG. Mature Theme (Canada-10:00 Comedy, Brad Gover – Director) A young man who is estranged from his girlfriend decides to mail himself to her in a box.

If in a different category, The Care Package would have been poor. But in ‘The Odd Side of Life’ category, fit for a Fringe Festival, The Care Package was intriguing.

A young man used to have the perfect relationship…until the girlfriend moved away. Now they rarely speak, and their old spark no longer, is gradually dying out. To diminish their communication issue, he decides to go see her. He is short on money, so he is unable to take a plane. He then comes up with an absurd but doable idea…to send himself to her in the mail. He makes all the necessary preparations; buys an appropriate sized box, food, and water. When he arrives, I’m sure you’ll be surprised at the twist like I was.

Yes, the twist at the end was surprising, very surprising. I almost feel as though there was a hidden message in there somehow. I can’t exactly figure out what it was, but I’m still thinking about it. The film succeeded in that way, so if that was the purpose, then it worked. The acting wasn’t the greatest, but it wasn’t bad. I give it credit for having such an original storyline. I don’t believe I’ve ever seen this story anywhere else! A very unusual idea that seems to work! Again, I think this film passes, but it didn’t wow me.

Hello A ‘n' E Vibers!  This is the first blog entry of a series to come that will lead up to L'Oreal Fashion Week here in Toronto in October.  I hope that you all will log in regularly, as I will be updating as often as I can with my thoughts and reviews on anything to do with fashion.

So the 2008 Beijing Olympics have begun, and besides the sports and competition, who isn't paying attention to what the athletes are wearing to represent their nation?  The Opening Ceremony on Friday was the perfect venue for each country to show off their national pride in their clothing, and although I wasn't able to watch the live broadcast on television, I did some research and came up with these photos of what the Canadian Olympians wore..
