This AnEVibe list, of the Top Ten Stars Bound For Great Futures, was inspired by something Leann Rimes on some country awards televised show said. Rimes stated ‘For those of you keeping tabs, I’ve been in this industry for over a decade now. One marriage and no arrests.’ It was a healthy moment.
Originally this had been an article about the top 5 successes and the top 5 failures in the realm of young entertainers, but it became increasingly obvious that the failures were way too easy to spot. In fact, with daily updates on the whereabouts of such poorly misguided creatures of the spotlight, it was concluded that the successes should be showcased as they receive so few props.
The rules are simple; 30 or under, making a difference, working hard at the business of show, and keeping private lives well…private. These ten individuals (five from acting, five from music), in no particular order or ranking, should be shown off for their braveness in refusing to be the rehab cliché.
TOP 5 YOUNG STARS IN HOLLYWOOD BOUND FOR A GREAT FUTURE…
Kristen Bell (Veronica Mars, Heroes. DOB: July 18th 1980, Age: 27) – TV Star Kristen Bell is a fabulous individual on many levels. She has an amazing resolve to be herself in a town of copycats. Bell has stated that nerdy is the new cool, claiming that "what was previously perceived as nerdy is now viewed as original. What I like about nerdiness, geekiness, is it doesn’t really matter what you’re into—it just means you’re not a follower." With comments like that to her young audience, she has set a higher standard for youths. Bell is considered the most sought after actress on TV and had a choice of being on hit TV shows Lost or Heroes after the Veronica Mars series ended (she chose Heroes, but I’m sure it was a tough decision). Other markers of Bell’s individuality is her championing for PETA and vegetarianism as a healthy and socially concious lifestyle. During her time liveing in Michigan, Bell fostered animals from the Michigan Humane Society and she now supports the San Diego based Helen Woodward Animal Center. Bell often attends fund raisers for the ASPCA and other non-profit organization dedicated to protecting animals. As for other charities, Bell is also involved with the charity organization Invisible Children Inc.; The goal of the organization is to create awareness regarding the plight of the people of Northern Uganda who are caught in the midst of a civil war. Bell has shown her support for the Writers Guild of America in the writer's strike, appearing in the picket lines stating "the writers are just looking for some fairness." As for Bell’s private life, she has kept mostly ‘Mum’ about it, but after a recent break-up with her fiancee, she has stated that she won’t be dating for awhile as she needs to clear her head and figure out what she wants before going into another relationship. My, how mature.
Ashton Kutcher (That 70s Show, Punk’d, The Guardian. DOB: February 7th 1978, Age: 27) – This was a tough call for me as Kutcher doesn’t seem like an obvious choice, after all, he has a huge amount of immature behaviour connected with his persona. However the facts showing otherwise are quite clear; Kutcher has a successful career producing seven projects to date aside from his acting, he has invested in three successful restaurants and is happily married to Demi Moore and even has the unmitigated gall to be mature enough to have a genuine friendship with Demi’s ex-husband Bruce Willis. If those stats don’t make Kutcher a candidate, then perhaps his strong political views, publicly supporting of candidates he believes in, and being outspoken about how his family were grateful for things like food stamps within a poverty-line upbringing at times. Kutcher also speaks openly about his twin brothers Cerebral Palsy and about his path of destruction before cleaning himself up and getting his career started. Although Kutcher isn’t an obvious choice, he seems to have kept the fun while committing himself to his long-term career goals, security of a family life, and publicly supporting his beliefs.
Hayden Panettiere (Heroes. DOB: August 21st 1989, Age: 18) – So if someone in young Hollywood is to get arrested, it might as well be for a good cause. On October 31, 2007 TV show Heroes resident cheerleader superhero, Panettiere, was involved in a confrontation with Japanese fishermen as she tried to disrupt their annual dolphin hunt in Taiji, Wakayama with five other surfers in an attempt to reach a pod of dolphins to release them. The confrontation lasted more than 10 minutes before the surfers were forced to return to the beach. An arrest warrant on Panettiere has been issued in Japan for her interference in the dolphin hunt. In November 2007, Hayden was awarded the "Compassion in Action Award" from the animal rights group PETA for her efforts to stop the dolphin hunt in Japan. Even though Panettiere is very young and has a strong career ahead of her, she seems bound to stand out of a crowd for her strong values and her willingness to stand by them.
James McAvoy (Atonement, Lion Witch, And The Wardrobe. DOB: April 21st 1979, Age: 28) – The Bloom of Orlando seems to be fading a little bit as Hollywood’s hottest young actor, James McAvoy, has snapped up roles across leading ladies Kiera Knightley, and Angelina Jolie this year. He has also been nominated for a Golden Globe for his performance in Atonement. Aside from a soaring career, McAvoy has a well established marriage with wife Anne-Marie Duff, he is a representative for the British Red Cross on such trips like one to Uganda. I think this is a glimpse of McAvoy at the start of a long career; he seems incredibly well-adjusted, taking everything in his stride and is good at his job.
Miley Cyrus (Hannah Montana. DOB: November 23rd 1992, Age: 15) – Never think a one hit wonder is just that. Billy Ray Cyrus of the ‘Achy Breaky Heart’ fame has made that one song into multiple acting gigs and now his daughter is making a one hit wonder a second generational concept. Originally named Destiny Hope Cyrus, Miley was ranked #17 on Forbes List of The 20 Top-Earning Young Superstars recently as her career as Disney character Hannah Montana has made the youngest person on our list a household-family-friendly name. Being a wholesome representative for Disney doesn’t seem hard for Cyrus as she appears to be on all accounts friendly and hardworking. A small controversy was concocted about her, but was later recanted by the questionable paper. Perhaps the easiest reason as to why Cyrus will be a great success in the future and manage a respectable and long career, is her positive connection she has with both her parents.

Jody from Seattle, Washington, USA thinks Sarah Polley is a great choice "Where's Sarah Polley?! She's smart, she fits into the under 30 category, she's directed her first film recently (which is fabulous!), she only does movies she believes in, she's outspoken about her beliefs and stands behind causes she believes in as well. I can't wait to see where Sarah Polley's career will go! I think she will have a career as strong and respected as Robert Redford." -- AnEVibe agrees with Jody. Sarah Polley is a great talent and should be included in this list.
