SAN FRANCISCO and LONDON, April 17 /CNW/ - Earth Day, April 22, is just round the corner. What better time to do something fun and easy that will reduce carbon emissions?

How? Get your friends to sign up for the new Glupod Facebook application at http://apps.facebook.com/glupods/ to earn Glupods. 

Glupods are characters from a new online game with the same name. It's the first online video game that allows players to turn in-game winnings into real-life support for Green causes.

Something Inc, the company behind Glupod, has partnered with TerraPass, a carbon dioxide offsetting company, to create the Glupod Facebook application allowing Facebook users to earn an unlimited number of free Glupod angels, one for every 10 friends they get to sign up for the Glupod Facebook application. The Glupods will be granted on the game's launch date later this spring.
