2008statuette.jpgJunoFest will feature a multitude of acts including indie artists,

hometown favourites and JUNO Award nominees across-the-board

performing at various venues in downtown Calgary.

Calgary, AB - Among the events announced is the highly anticipated JunoFest, a two-night music

extravaganza happening Friday, April 4th and Saturday, April 5th, each night from 9 p.m. - 2 a.m. (MST).

JunoFest will feature a multitude of acts including indie artists, hometown favourites and JUNO Award

nominees across-the-board performing at various venues in downtown Calgary.

"There's nothing like the live experience of seeing your favourite band light up the stage, and with scores of

artists participating, there's a good chance of discovering new favourites along the way during JunoFest,"

said Melanie Berry, CARAS President.

JunoFest wristbands are $30 and will go on sale Saturday, March 1st at 10 a.m. (MST) at all Ticketmaster

outlets, online at www.ticketmaster.ca or by calling 403-777-0000.   Patrons must be 18 years of age and

older to attend. JunoFest wristbands offer priority entry and are subject to capacity.

Nelson Mandela turns 90!
Hyde Park in London (England) was host to the 46664 AIDS/HIV charity event to both celebrate the heroes birthday, and  promote awareness of his charity named after the number he was gave for his 27 year socially unjust prison sentence on Robin Island (South Africa). July 18th welcomed the `big stars`from Will Smith (who hosted), to attendees Oprah, and Uma (Thurman) the event had `Birthday Bash`wrote all over it. The performers list was endless, such as Annie Lennox, and Josh Groban who both gave delightful tributes to Mandela`s legacy.
