This power-pop band based out of Vancouver clearly enjoys playing around with sounds.  Their wide variety of instruments include: guitars, keyboards, tambourine, cello, percussion, drums, bass, and of course vocals.  With this array of sounds, Cinderpop's third album {Fig.13} a lesson in science makes for a fun CD with unique songs backed with tantalizing vocals.

While listening to this album, the thought ‘modern day Beatles' crossed my mind.  This comes from the songs being mellow yet upbeat at the same time.  Also, I think the tambourine, piano style, and similar-sounding vocals add to this thought.  If you enjoy The Beatles, you will enjoy the second song "A Lesson in Science".

If length is what your looking for, this album won't hit the spot.  It consists of 13 songs with two being less than 2 minutes.  One of these short songs is the aforementioned "A Lesson in Science" which is a great song and could really be expanded on.

Overall, this album is a nice little escape to a less mainstream world of music.  There's a little bit of pop in there, a little bit of oldies, but a lot of talent.  With clearly different musical backgrounds (resulting in the variety of instruments), the musicians all mix well to create their own unique sound.
