Spirit Of Havana is a collection by the group Kargo. Performers James Diplock and Mat Mclean, have created a new age collection inspired by perhaps an over-idealized version of Havana. Mind you this might also be considered a hopeful collection of Havana. The songs tend to range from more intensely focused tracks of purely South American sounds, lots of acoustic guitar, etc, and at other times, the collection appears to fall under the guise of new age music with synthesizers and crashing waves in the background. After their Middle Eastern themed Dreams Of Marrakesh, you will hear a similar style to Kargo’s collections. They do have a more European New Age sound to their music, as if they might break into a dance song at any moment, but overall this collection simply feels too safe. Unlike a fine wine, with boldness and texture, this collection appears to be on the opposite spectrum, and fully taking the middle road. I think Kargo could be better as they mature (like the wine) and if they were inclined to take more risks with their music. 1. Intro For Lily 2. Spirit 3. Atlantic Big Sky 4. Song For Lily 5. Luna Flamenco 6. Cubalibra 7. Sunkissed 8. Salsola 9. From Dusk Till Dawn |

Nelson Mandela turns 90!
Hyde Park in
London (England) was host to the 46664 AIDS/HIV charity event to both celebrate
the heroes birthday, and promote awareness of his charity named after the
number he was gave for his 27 year socially unjust prison sentence on Robin
Island (South Africa). July 18th welcomed the `big stars`from Will Smith (who
hosted), to attendees Oprah, and Uma (Thurman) the event had `Birthday
Bash`wrote all over it. The performers list was endless, such as Annie Lennox,
and Josh Groban who both gave delightful tributes to Mandela`s legacy.
