Carissa Reiniger in Association with Lindsey Steinberg Present The Toronto Premiere of STORIES FROM OUR BLACK BOOKS - THE PLAY. Real Women. Real Stories. At Six Degrees. Limited Engagement from May 8, 2008 - June 8, 2008 TORONTO, April/CNW/ - Carissa Reiniger in association with Lindsey Steinberg announced today that Stories From Our Black Books will be making its Toronto premiere in May, after a successful run in Western Canada. Based on the book of the same name created by Reiniger, Stories has been adapted for the stage by Barbara Pollard (of Mum's the Word Fame) and will be directed by Matt Baram. Stories is set to open May 8th at Six Degrees, 2335 Yonge Street, and will run until June 8th. Tickets are now on sale. Stories From Our Black Books - The Book was first released in 2005 and was warmly welcomed and highly praised by media and thousands of women across Canada. Now the book is back - in the form of a play. Stories is a show all about relationships and learning, littered with frank conversation and honest dialogue, Stories transports the audience into the pages of their diaries, the thoughts that run through their heads and the frank conversation of their girlfriends. All Stories content is generated from real women's stories. "Who needs to read fiction or go see plays with story lines that are made up by someone's imagination? Every woman's relationships cause enough drama in all of our lives that they deserve a stage!" says Reiniger. Stories is a night out to remember.

Then the idea of Fair Trade slid slowly into my psyche, and when your High School school-bag toting cousin is more savvy on the subject then you, it's time to strip off and read the damn labels...Read More |
