Wow.  The Bourne Ultimatum was intense. With fascinating action scenes and amazing stunts, I was quite literally on the edge of my seat throughout the entire movie, and I wasn’t the only one!  As I looked around the theatre I saw that just about everyone was as completely into the action and adventure as I was.  I believe that this was the perfect end to a trilogy of Bourne movies, and did not disappoint in the slightest – I loved it!

Ultimatum starts with a shot of Jason Bourne (Matt Damon) running away from someone, as he always is. He is still trying desperately to discover who he is, after a sequence of circumstances in the first film that left him with amnesia.  This may have been easier for Bourne if it weren’t for the CIA, who are still trying to track him down.  The plot complicates even more when a journalist from one of London’s top newspapers starts to write a series of articles on Bourne, which catches both the CIA’s and Bourne’s eyes, and ends up in a highly action-filled chase to find the journalist’s source.  The movie continues with many impressive stunts and can even be comedic at times, but in the conclusion one question remains; Will Jason Bourne discover who he is?

What I really like about the Bourne movies is Jason Bourne himself; Robert Ludlum, the mastermind behind the Bourne novels, created such a wonderful character when he invented Bourne. Wit, superhuman strength and impossible endurance are the earmarks of Bourne’s character and Matt Damon does an amazing job portraying the unbeatable assassin. Damon gives the audience a real sense of his internal struggle through everything he does.

With fast-paced action scenes and that hard-to-tear-your-eyes-away quality, this is definitely a film I would recommend for others to see, and I am pretty sure they would enjoy it just as much as I did, if not more.

kindah_picture.jpgMade In Where?

By: Kindah Mardam Bey (Ontario Correspondent - Canada)

Recently, the question of where exactly my clothing is made has come to my attention. That little equal sign symbol on the back of Coldplay lead singer Chris Martin's hand represents Fair Trade. Which ultimately means that wealthier countries do not bleed third world countries for cheap labour. Seriously, it's a big problem, and while my brief encounter with awareness hit me in the early 1990s with Nike, and then with the outrageous brush with humiliation Kathy Lee Gifford was subjected to (wasn't everyone else doing the same as KLG?), I had little experience with the subject matter. Then the idea of Fair Trade slid slowly into my psyche, and when your High School school-bag toting cousin is more savvy on the subject then you, it's time to strip off and read the damn labels...Read More
