This is the only Christmas book you would need for Christmas if you had enough strength to only buy just one. It has it all – from the imperative twelve planning steps aligning up to Christmas, baking holiday desserts, cookies, leftovers, and even gifts from the kitchen. But my absolute favourite section of The Christmas Table is the Christmas Menus with corresponding timetables outlining what you need to do two weeks before, one day before, an hour before, and so on. Plus, like a gift with purchase, you get an additional section on holiday décor!

What a marvellous Christmas cookbook this is. Just like a Christmas Table, author Diane Morgan takes the time to prepare her whole event of Christmas, ensuring that all the details are lovingly tended to.

Stunning photography by E.J. Armstrong puts you in the mood for enjoying the Christmas season with all its flavours, sights and sounds. Even a roll of ribbon propped on top of a stack of Ziploc bags is made to look festive and beautiful. I think I even heard sleigh bells jingling while I read this despite the fact that it was the autumn!

My picks for the Christmas Table would have to be “Wild Salmon Chowder with Leeks and Celery Root,” “Roast Tenderloin of Beef with Bordelaise Sauce,” “Gingerbread Bundt Cake with Creme Anglaise” “Banana and Chocolate Trifle.”
